Travels of 2015 Part 2.

COPENHAGEN.

Freetown Christiana and Music college areas

Nyhavn

The Little Mermaid ( a must if you can get close enough!)

The Palace and grounds

Copenhagen is my home away from home, as I'm technically a quarter danish I'm very interested in my roots and where my family come from. I have visited Denmark so many times i can't remember how many. But Copenhagen is easily my favourite European country, for starters its so clean as in the air and the ground as not many people drive cars it's the city of bikes and electronic cars.

Secondly because it's just so beautiful and everything is kept to a high standard so sightseeing is a doddle. Just jump on a bus or a bike probably the best way to get around.

As you can see from the photos everything is just so well kept and although the danes can be a little scary at times if you are struggling with getting around I'm sure someone will help you out, just a warning the danes are very sarcastic so never take anything they say to seriously.

Sightseeing wise, the palace and grounds the old army grounds, the little mermaid to name but a few are must see. There is a massive list and all of the hop on/off buses go to all and more of these places.

Also one word TIVOLI. Do not go to Copenhagen without going there. It would take a whole blog post to describe how amazing it is but honestly worth it!

There is pretty much every shop you can think of in Copenhagen so yes you've guessed it there was a Sephora where again some feeling spendy moments occurring. From 'Scandi' fashion to the everyday labels that you see on the highstreet are available as well as the expensive brands that i just stare at through the window :'(

Super Spendy!

The best hot dogs ever!

You may be thinking Torie why have you put a picture of a hot dog, but you cannot leave copenhagen without trying a polser with ketchup, remolade and crispy onions. Talk about YUM! Danish food in general is pretty darn good, lets just say you'll never go hungry in Denmark.

Nyhavn is probably the best area to get food in Copenhagen as the each side of the river is lined with over 50 different restaurants and cafes. Doing everything from traditional danish food to a good old Irish bar!

And if like me you fall in love with certain foods that are exclusive to Denmark don't worry there are some websites that you can order the food from or better still there is a shop just off Oxford Street. Its called The Scandinavian Kitchen, i came across it whilst looking for somewhere to eat for lunch rather than going to PRET for over priced lunch. They also have a cafe where you can try foods from Denmark, Sweden and Norway. My recommendation would be to try a Rare Roast beef Smorebord (open sandwich on rye bread) its super yummy and is cheaper than getting a plane ticket to Copenhagen !

Bye for now x
